The Photography Department is committed to providing pupils with a current and in-depth exploration of the techniques and artist working in the Photographic industry. You will gain an understanding of the values and rules that photographic imagery can convey to the viewer.

The exam board followed for our photography curriculum is AQA.

Year 10 – Students will begin with an exploration into the topics of both Portraiture and Still life. There are a set of key artist to be looked at in detail who traverse every genre, date and location in both topics, the work will be collected in a professional looking digital journal.

Year 11 – Students begin to finalize their work for submission, the last topic of Landscape is also offered to help boost their understanding and skill set gained across the course. There is a final, practical exam towards the end of the year where students demonstrate their own response to set topical questions.

Mr Teare runs an enrichment session after schools on Wednesdays where students can have more time to perfect their individual Photoshoots skills.
